My brief was to create a piece of visual communication to celebrate the eccentric sport of snail racing. I decided to name and brand a governing body for the sport, called the Gastropod Gaming Guild. I then wrote and designed a range of books and postcards to celebrate the sport as well as educate new trainers about the sport’s history, guidelines and how to get started. Each book has been stitched with silver thread that runs up the spine to create a snail trail, which is then continued through the book in the form of a silver ribbon bookmark. I then designed a limited edition box set to contain the three books. (2008)
